Come with the Desert Wind Saxophone Quartet as they travel through the western hemisphere discovering new and tantalizing music along the way.  They start their travels in New York City and work across the country to California and to the Desert Southwest.  They then ease down through Mexico and Central America to the land of the Tango Nuevo in Argentina, having gathered music from people and cultures along the way.  Once in Argentina they are entranced by the music and are drawn to the passionate melodies, rhythms and…..  Lost them again.

Enjoy an evening of your favorite Christmas Music as the Desert Wind Saxophone Quartet presents their 10th Annual Christmas Concert at Dove of the Desert United Methodist Church Saturday, December 16, at 7:00 PM.  This annual concert has a history of assisting the Dove Missions Committee in collecting items they need for area families and charity organizations.  This year they are collecting non-perishable food items that will be donated to St. Mary’s West Side Food Bank AllianceHighlights of the evening will include music by Leroy Anderson, Sleigh Ride, Mel Torme, The Christmas Song and a special traditional presentation of Clement Moore’s poem ‘Twas The Night Before ChristmasDove of the Desert is located at 7201 W. (Women Helping to Educate and Enrich Lives) Organization is pleased to present the First Annual Festival of Trees December 2-4, 2004 at the Glendale Civic Center.  As a non-profit organization comprised of West Valley women, we are organizing this holiday event to raise funds for the West Valley Child Crisis Center (www.wvccc.org).  All proceeds from this charity event will be donated to this facility which provides shelter and care for abused and neglected children.

The Desert Wind Saxophone Quartet will be presenting its final concert of the season at Dove of the Desert United Methodist Church on Sunday, May 11, at 3:00PM,  Mother’s Day.  The concert will include music by Astor Piazzolla (Michelangelo 70, Adios Nonino, Pulsacion 2), Calvin Hampton (Bach’s Fireworks Music), Stephen Rush (Seventh Heaven Rag), George Gershwin (Fascinating Rhythm), and music by other noteworthy composers.  Also on the concert will be audience, and quartet favorites.  It promises to be an exciting and energetic afternoon of music.  As always, Mom’s get free admission, as well as students, we are asking Dad for a small donation of $10.00, $8.00 for senior Dads.  For further information contact the quartet at 623-582-4259 or through this site.  Program
